My Family

My name is Susan I’m 28 and I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on April 16th 2007.  I had 12 chemo treatments of ABVD followed by 14 radiation treatments.  This family picture was taken right before I shaved my head. If you go to the post, “To shave or not to shave & It’s Done.” you can see the updated picture with all of us bald. I have a wonderful family!! I have three boys: Tyler age 6 Adam 4 and Luke 1. My husband is a partner at Knobbe Martens Olsen & Bear. He is a patent attorney. I’m a photographer I own my own company Times2Treasure. We live in Murrieta.  My husband set up the blog for us to have a place to communicate with family and friends and also provide an outlet for me to share my experiences.

    Hello,

Congratulations about your cancer. I am so happy for you. enjoy life with your beautiful family. I was searching the web because about a month ago I noticed a bone hard lump on the left side of my neck and am super nervous about it. I went to an ENT and was told that it was probably a lymphoma but when I went for the Ultrasound it showed a bone???? ENT is not happy with the U/S reports because of the location, he said it is not a bone. So, I am going back tomorrow for another opinion. This lump can not be seen but you can feel it on my left side. It is like a bone and does not move. I am so scared. I also have three young children all under 4.

How did you keep such a positive attitude? Any suggestions? During chemo, were you okay to be around your children or was the risk of infection too high?

    Thanks,

    Sunny

  2. Hi Sis. Jeidi,

I signed up (along with Sis. Garcia) to bring your family dinner on Wed. What is you family’s favorite sweet-treat?

I subbed for Tyler’s class a few weeks back in primary… what a little character he is, he and my son Christopher had a blast together. Christopher would like for him to come by sometime, hope that would be okay, I could pick him up.

My mother was diagnosed with NHL in Feb. she’s doing very well with the chemo. considering she’s 71.

We keep you and your lovely family in our prayers everyday. Hope today was a good day for you.

    Sis. Kennedy

Oh Sweetie, I wish there was something I could say or do? I feel soooo helpless and it’s not a feeling I’m that happy with, bit like Russell in the ER….. As for Tyler – arrgghhh! Kids! That’s a chunk missing for sure! If there’s any little thing we can do, hollar…. We are thinking of you – more than you’ll ever realise. Be strong, you know you have it in you, the boys will be shaped by your illness, but not defined by it. Love as always Jo xxx
I had to get Holly off the PC she had tonnes of homework to do! She did want to drop you a line or two though – her typing is certainly faster than mine!
    Love and prayers, Jo
